Random News and Notes 8 June

The big news for the weekend has and continues to be the riots across Los Angeles County. The leftards have their panties in a wad over ICE enforcement actions taken across the county. I covered some of the early reaction in yesterday’s RNN. We’ll look at some of the activity since that post was published yesterday. Let’s start with an accusation made on the Twitter yesterday by a number of accounts: that bricks had been pre-positioned for the rioters to use.

The problem? That video was taken behind the Home Depot on Alondra Blvd in Paramount. HD, and a lot of their home improvement stores keep bulky/heavy items like bricks, pavers and concrete blocks behind the stores. They were not ‘pre-positioned’, they were just there. Did the rioters take advantage of that fact? Kinda.

In more riot related news, President Trump has nationalized the Cali National Guard and is deploying them to the riot zones.

Hopefully that move squashes the lawlessness because the next move is bringing in Marines from Pendleton. And no, I’m not kidding. SecDef Hegseth has already issued alert orders to the Marines.

In international news, Miguel Uribe, a leading contender in the upcoming Presidential elections in Colombia was shot yesterday. Uribe took two to the head while delivering a stump speech in Bogota.

The 15 year old suspect was caught almost immediately. Uribe represents the center-right Centro Democrático party.

ABC news’ Terry Moran is a moron. The network’s National correspondent posted then deleted a screed about White House advisor Steven Miller last night. He apparently forgot the internet is forever though. The screen-shotted post was shared by many, including Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

I have to say something here. While I feel that naming and shaming is highly appropriate here, the calls for punishment from official accounts is not. If Leavitt was just part of the commentariat, the calls for consequences would be fine. The fact it comes from a government account is problematic from a 1st Amendment perspective. <stepping off my soapbox>

Hat tip to Mr Wizard for this one. Stepping back to LA for a moment, Tony Moon – one of the OG Roof Koreans – has something to say about the riots.

He’d know a little about riots and Los Angeles. . .

It looks like that majority of Americans are behind the Trump deportation agenda.

I can only think that those numbers will grow following the riots this weekend.
