Random News and Notes 31 July
Here we are at the ass end of July. One more month of hot summer weather for most of us. I say that knowing the forecast high temp in my AO today is in the upper 60s. In my defense, it was 92 yesterday. Anyway, on to the news. . .
We start on the banks of the Hudson in Orange County, NY today, specifically the Hamlet of West Point. It is there, along US 9w, you will find the hallowed halls of the United States Military Academy. It is there that the woke tried to pull a fast one on the Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll.
An offer of employment was made to one Jen Easterly “as the Robert F. McDermott Distinguished Chair in the department of social sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.” She is a retired colonel and the former head of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). As CISA director under Biden, she was directly responsible for the censorship and monitoring of conservative voices and strong-arming social media companies into restricting conversations on vote fraud in the 2020 election and the COVID virus response.
When Driscoll found out he recinded the offer and ordered a full review of the USMA hiring practices.
Item #2 is interesting. Why are outside groups making hiring decisions for the service academies? I can see recommendations, in fact I would expect them. But the actual decision? No.
The asswipe in Ottawa just joined two tier Kier and the effeminate, CESM* Macron in ‘recognizing’ a non-existent ‘Palestinian state’. Mark Carney is as bad if not worse than Turdeau.
While Carney was in a big hurry to sit with the cool kids he forgot something. The UK and EU have announced they have completed trade deals with the US. Canada hasn’t. Trump is not afraid to punish those who try to buck the system so to speak. I’ve covered this ad nauseam, but Canada – the entire damned country – has a GDP about the size of my home state of NY and the per capita GDP would put it behind all the US states less Mississippi.

A Rhode Island lawmaker decided it would be a good idea to threaten ICE and DHS. State Rep Enrique Sanchez dais he would “confront these Nazi ICE thugs”.
Look, as long as the keyboard warrior stays behind his monitor, he can say pretty much whatever he wants. The second he shows up at an ICE action, he needs to be cuffed and stuffed. And I mean as soon as they show up, not after they have interfered. I’m done with the grace period regarding this stuff.
The classified annex of the Durham report has been released. Some of the info is new, some is worthwhile, most is interesting, but none of it will lead to indictments.
Look, I think that more transparency is a Good Thing, and getting these docs out into the public eye is a worthy goal. However, the statute has run on most – if not all – of the charges that would be applicable to this. Is there a smoking gun? I dunno, and frankly, I’m not spending the time to sift through the entire annex to find out. As I said, all it does is expose the miscreants behind it all, it does not put anyone in legal jeopardy.
