Random News and Notes 5 July

We start with the unfolding tragedy in Texas, Kerr county to be specific. Heavy rains – up to 12″ an hour – caused flash flooding along the Guadalupe river. The river rose 26 feet in 45 minutes. The flash flooding tore through Camp Mystic, a private Christian girls’ camp, and washed away bunkhouses. At least 23 girls are missing from the camp.

There are 13 dead so far, with more expected.

Our prayers go out to everyone affected by this event. Your Editor will be following this story and if anything warrants an update, he will provide one.

President Trump and First Lady Melania hosted an Independence Day picnic on the South Lawn of the White House yesterday. The event was for military members and their families. As part of the festivities, there was a flyover. But not just any flyover. The aircraft involved – 2 B2s, 2 F35s and 2 F22s – were part of Operation Midnight Hammer.

There has been much polling on the illegal immigration question of late. And well, the left doesn’t like the results. A clear majority want all illegals gone.

This is another of those issues where the left is clearly out of step with the vast majority of Americans. Much of it is reflexive; Orange Man Bad so we have to oppose it.
