Random News and Notes 23 August

There were a trio of high profile reliefs yesterday. SecDef Pete Hegseth fired the Defense Intelligence Agency head, the chief of the Naval Reserve and the commander of Naval Special Warfare. A sis usual in cases like this, no definitive reasons were given outside the usual loss of confidence BS.

The DIA chief, AF LTG Jeffrey Kruse, was fired first. The DIA under Kruse released a low confidence assessment saying the Iran strikes were ineffective when that was clearly not the case. VAdm. Nancy Lacore, the head of the Navy’s reserve component was likely fired because of her adherence to DEI and resistance to the new administrations goals.

The reason behind the firing of  RAdm. Milton Sands is less clear. The SeAL community has been on a bad behavior roll of late and that may have been a contributing factor. IT may be just as likely that Sands was pushing for more diversity in Naval SpecWar units. Regardless, I do not doubt that there was good reason behind these reliefs.

Lyle and Erik Menendez murdered their parents back in 1989. They were convicted and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Woke LA county DA George Gascon successfully got them resentenced with the chance of parole. Well, they had their first parole hearings. They were both denied parole.

The brothers will not get another hearing for another three years. They shouldn’t have gotten the first one, and probably should have gotten the chair.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was released from a Tennessee jail yesterday and is on his way to Maryland. Once he gets there he will be on house arrest. Don’t think it’s all sunshine and roses for the MS 13 member and human trafficker. ICE has already given him notice they are shipping him to Uganda.

Some activist district judge has inserted a 72 hour limit before ICE can deport to a 3rd party country. By giving him that notice the minute he was released will satisfy that requirement come Monday. Remember Abrego Garcia still has an active and legal removal order. The only place he can’t go is El Salvador.

Lisa D Cook is one of the Federal Reserve governors. As such she is at least partially responsible for setting interest rates for the country. It also appears that she committed mortgage fraud. Much like NY attorney General Tish James and California Senator Adam Schiff, Cook allegedly lied about her actual place of residence on more than one mortgage application. It also appears that she failed to disclose rental income from at least one of the properties in question on her mandatory disclosure forms.

President Trump has threatened to fire her if she does not resign over the scandal. Mortgage fraud seems to be the currency of the realm if you’re a Dem. You or me? We’d be perp walked over it.
