Random News and Notes 24 August

The last of a rare breed has passed. Naval Aviator Donald McPherson, the last of the WWII fighter Aces, died on 14 August. Both the American Fighter Aces Association and the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum had recognized McPherson as the last surviving American ace pilot from the war

Donald McPherson entered the Navy in January 1943 and in February of 1944, was assigned as an aviation cadet. He earned his commission and wings on August 12, 1944. McPherson was assigned to VF-83 aboard the USS Essex. He scored 5 confirmed kills of Japanese planes while flying an F6F Hellcat named “Death ‘n Destruction”.

His service during World War II earned him the Congressional Gold Medal — awarded to those who have made a significant impact on U.S. history and culture — as well as three Distinguished Flying Crosses.

Following the war, McPherson returned to his Nebraska farm and dedicated his life to community service—as a scoutmaster, church leader, and founder of local youth sports leagues. His funeral was held in his hometown of Adams Nebraska.

Until Valhalla.

Do you recall the incident involving Edward ‘Big Balls’ Coristine? The one where he intervened in a carjacking and got his ass beat for his troubles? Well there is some troubling news coming out of DC in that regard., Judge Kendra D. Briggs, a Biden appointed, has released two of the individuals involved.

I’m sorry, what? The two were involved in not only the assault on Coristine but an attempted carjacking as well. They needed to stay right where they were.

In some good news the federal workforce is expected to shed some 300,000 employees by year’s end. OPM (office of personnel management) director Scott Kupor recently confirmed that about 80 percent of these reductions come from voluntary buyouts and transition programs designed to help employees move on with financial support. The remaining 20 percent were involuntary layoffs.

The federal workforce is expected to shrink from 2.4 million to 2.1 million employees, a 12.5 percent decrease. It is the largest reduction in the federal workforce since WWII.

The communist running for NYC mayor is not only weak on policy, he’s weak physically. Zohran Mamdani was at a men’s day event in Brooklyn and attempted to bench press 135lbs. He – well watch and see for youreself:

You’ll notice that the spotters did most of the work there. Just like a commie to have someone else do the work.

As a side note, your 57 – nearly 58 – year old editor works out with 225lbs on the bench and his max is somewhere around 315 lbs.

For a bit of levity on your final day of the weekend we present this:

One almost – almost – feels bad for the limb rats.

Here is another piece of good news for Sunday. There have been zero murders in Washington DC in the last 10 days.

Why? Simple, the Trump crackdown. When there are visible and active law enforcement activities in an area crime tends to drop. And once again, Trump has forced the Dems to take the wrong side of an 80/20 issue.
