As we get ready to slide into September and Autumn, we start this edition of RNN in in Tennessee. Many of you know the story of Sheriff Buford Pusser. He was – at the time – the youngest elected sheriff in the state of Tennessee. He took on the mob in McNairy County. He even had a movie made about him starring Joe Don Baker. His wife, Pauline, was killed in 1967 in a supposed ambush by the bad guys. No killer was ever found or even suspected. Until now that is.
As part of a regular cold case file review, the TBI looked into the killing of Pauline Pusser and found some disturbing things. A tip indicated that no autopsy had been done on Pauline, so with the permission of the family they exhumed her body and performed one. The forensics did not match the story Buford had told investigators at the time.

It looks like Buford killed his wife and then staged the ambush. District Attorney General Mark Davidson of Tennessee’s 25th Judicial District said that if Pusser were still alive today, he would be charged in the murder.
Pusser died in a 1974 car accident, widely blamed on his enemies in the local mobs.
The IDF took out the only senior Hams leader who was around prior to the 10/7 attacks. Hadifa Kahlot, also known as “Abu Obeida” met Allah and his 72 virgin goats when the IDF made a targeted strike on his apartment in Gaza City.
. . . and Shin Bet attacked and killed yesterday (Saturday) the head of the propaganda unit of the military wing of the Hams terrorist organization and the spokesperson for the wing, Hadifa Kahlot, “Abu Obeida.”

Abu Obeida was one of the last senior figures in Hams’ military wing before October 7. The terrorist served as head of the propaganda unit in Hams’ military wing for the past decade. As part of his role, he was responsible for the spokespersons in the brigades and battalions, responsible for coordinating between the political spokespersons and the military wing, and was the senior figure in determining propaganda policy.

During the war, Kahlot and his men were behind the distribution of psychological terror videos of civilians and soldiers kidnapped in the Gaza Strip.

In a related note, the IDF took out the vast majority of the Houthi leadership in an airstrike on the 28th of this month. The Houthi are an Iran backed, Islamic rebel group in Yemen.
Among those killed were the Houthi PM Ahmed al-Rahawi and nearly all the military leadership of the rebel groups. I feel the need to note the actual Yemeni PM, Salem Saleh Salem bin Braik, is fine and is the guy that actually heads the Yemeni gov and is recognized as such by every country that isn’t Iran.
It’s a sad, sad state of affairs when flying your national flag proudly has become an act of resistance. That is the case in most of the British isles right now.
It’s unfortunate, but I think the UK is gone already. At this point it will likely take armed resistance to the ‘I’m just following orders’ types in the police forces across Blighty to make any significant changes. And some of the black robe brigade swinging from lampposts.
Oddly enough, there is a history and tradition of that kind of thing happening in England. One can hope. . .
