Random News and Notes 4 September

I don’t know how I missed this one. Actor Graham Greene passed on 1 September. Most of you will know him as Kicking Bird from Dances With Wolves, a role that landed him an Oscar nod. I, on the other hand, will always remember him as Edgar Montrose on the Red Green show.

Greene was a member of the Oneida nation of Canada and was born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario.

He appeared in more than 180 movies and TV shows during his long career.

Requiescat in Pace.

It seems the mean tweets have restarted. President Trump went on a late night troll-a-thon on his Truth social platform last night. He took a very specific shot at Rosie O’Donnell:

Here’s the whole image:

I don’t know what to say. . .

Here’s another lawfare case that is likely headed to SCOTUS on the rocket docket. The Federal circuit court of appeals ruled Trump’s use of tariffs unconstitutional. The 7-4 decision said the ability to levy taxes – and tariffs are taxes – is a power vested in Congress exclusively.

Look, the ability to levy taxes is a congressional power, but the Trump use of tariffs is something that has been delegated to the executive by law. Or at least that is my non-lawyerly understanding of the situation. We’ll see. . .

Virginia Dem Senator TIm Kaine is an idiot. He just proved it again during a hearing. He claimed that our rights come from government and not our Creator. Ted Cruz was having none of it:

There should be a mandatory civics test to run for office in the US. Fail and you cannot run.

NBC spoke to a group of federal judges. They currently remain anonymous. What they said should have some of them removed. Several of them lashed out at SCOTUS, saying the High Court should offer more explanation of their emergency rulings.

One, an Obama appointee, says that TDS is real, and they there are lower court judges who are going out of their way to obstruct the Trump agenda. “The whole ‘Trump derangement syndrome’ is a real issue. As a result, judges are mad at what Trump is doing or the manner he is going about things; they are sometimes forgetting to stay in their lane,” he said.

I feel like I need to point out that every federal court that is NOT the Supreme Court is created by Statute and not the Constitution. Congress can and should rein them in.
