Random News and Notes 1 December
Before we get to the news there is something that I’d like to discuss. The Silly Season has started. Please take care of yourselves. If you are feeling out of sorts, like things are hopeless or you want to end things, reach out. I am always willing to lend an ear. Or call the VA crisis line. It’s an easy one to remember, dial 988 and press 1. Simple as.

22 of us commit suicide everyday with numbers peaking during the holiday season. Reach out to the weird dude from your unit, that Vet at the gym, whoever you even think might need a buddy check. Say hi, let them know you are thinking about them. You never know whose life you may save.
Now, on to the news. . .
The annual Army-Navy game is set for Saturday 13 December – less than two weeks away. You saw the Army Unis in this space when they were unveiled a couple of weeks ago. For some reason, the release of the Navy Unis went under the radar. So, today that gets corrected. As a reminder, this is the Army uniform for the game:

This year’s Navy uniform looks like this:

I am not a huge fan of the Navy uniforms if I’m being honest. They look like a slightly more detailed version of last year’s uni. Navy is 9-2 on the season and #23 in the AP poll. Army is 6-5.
It seems things in the southern Caribbean are hotting up. An ultimatum was apparently issued to Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro: Either GTFO and right now or face the US military.
Some of the reportage about this says that Maduro wants to retain control of the military, have some sort of global amnesty and stay President until new ‘free’ elections can be held. Do not think that any of those conditions are going to be entertained. The clock on kinetic actions has started.
In this editor’s opinion, we are at the point where there are only two options for Maduro and his cronies. A closed casket burial or leaving the country tout suite. There are no other options available for him.
Former Trump attorney Alina Habba has been ruled ineligible for the position she was holding as U.S. attorney for New Jersey. A 3 judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court ruling that Habba had been illegally appointed.
This is the first real loss for the Trump administration regarding appointments. Expect an appeal to SCOTUS on this issue.
