Random News and Notes 15 December

It is the second night of Hanukkah. May the light of the menorah brighten your days and fill you with warmth.

Just a reminder, you have 9 shopping days left until Christmas. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Now, on to the news.

Director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle were stabbed to death in their Brentwood home last night. Nick Reiner, 32, the son of director and his wife, was arrested for their murder after the couple was found. Bail has been set at $4M.

I will refrain from comment on his politics and focus on the good. Reiner was the director for a pretty good stretch in the 80’s and 90s.

Resquiecat in Pace.

The Turtle Island Liberation Front is a far-left, pro-palestine, anti-government, and anti-capitalist group of nutbags. The FBI just banged up 5 of them over a New Years Eve bomb plot. The individuals were caught in Lucerne Valley building IEDs for attacks on five locations, including ICE agents and vehicles, in California’s Central District covering Los Angeles and Orange County.

Each faces federal charges of conspiracy and possession of a destructive device; a fifth person was arrested in New Orleans for a separate plot.

In international news, Jose Antonio Kast won the runoff election to become the next President of Chile. He took 58% of the final vote. against commie – literally commie, she’s a member of the Chilean Communist party – Jeanette Jara. Kast is the head of the Chilean Republican party and he is the farthest right President in Chile since Augusto Pinochet in the 1990s.

Kast takes office in March.
