Random News and Notes 2 December

Today’s RNN will be considerably shorter than normal. The time this editor uses to write this piece was taken up in counselling a young man about joining the Army. As much as he enjoys writing for all y’all, that was a better use of my time today. For those interested, he takes the ASVAB thursday.

Now on to the news. . .

There was a time when Rand Paul was an admirable figure in the Senate. Those days are gone. He has turned into a parody of what he used to be. Maybe it was the beating he caught. Anyway, he posted this today:

As everyone on Xitter pointed out to Paul, that means 79% of the boats the USCG stopped did have drugs on board. Not the own that Rand thought it was. I’d also point out that the Puddle Pirates are just stopping random vessels. The Navy has much better intelligence about which boats have drugs and which do not.

Chuck Schumer told anyone that would listen that he received bomb threats at a couple of his NY offices recently. Only problem? Investigators found no evidence of the threats.

A law enforcement source confirmed that Suffolk County police responded to Schumer’s Long Island office but could not confirm the details of the threat. The person requested anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

At this point I’d almost rather have Alexandria Occasional Cortex as one of my Senators. At least she’s got a phat Latina booty. . .
