Random News and Notes 20 December.
Today marks the 7th night of Hanukkah. Hanukkah Sameach! You also have just 5 shopping days left before Christmas – look for a holiday themed music thread later today.
Today also marks a birthday. Space Force is 6 today. Join me in congratulating the Air Force on no longer being the youngest US military Branch.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Guardians.
Yesterday evening news broke about retaliatory strikes in Syria. The strikes come 2 days after the remains of two US service members came back to the US. SecWar Hegseth had this to say on Twitter:
. . . is a declaration of vengeance. The United States of America, under President Trump’s leadership, will never hesitate and never relent to defend our people.
As we said directly following the savage attack, if you target Americans — anywhere in the world — you will spend the rest of your brief, anxious life knowing the United States will hunt you, find you, and ruthlessly kill you.
Today, we hunted and we killed our enemies. Lots of them. And we will continue.
US troops are in Syria dealing with the remnants of daesh.
There was a drop of Epstein related stuff yesterday including a bunch of photos of Slick Willie and the girls Epstein trafficked. Bill and the rest of the Dems are having a fit over it apparently. Scott Jennings laid it out on CNN:
. . . is in the Epstein files is because this has always been a story about Bill Clinton and NOT Donald Trump!” “We should call it the Clinton files, not the Epstein files. THAT’S what we’re learning tonight.”
“This is a story about Democrats and Bill Clinton and it’s always been that way!”
Again, this is nothing that wasn’t already known. And before anyone gets worked up, all the photo redactions are of the victims.
Your editor is not a fan of country music. However, there is a story out of Nashville worth a few pixels. Tennessee governor Bill Lee issued a pardon to one Jason Deford. Deford was a youthful offender who had convictions for robbery and drug dealing among other things. You may know him better as Jelly Roll.
