Random News and Notes 31 December

Happy New Years Eve! Music post later? Let me know.

Now on to the news. . .

The Trump admin – and the rule of law – got some good news yesterday. The 1st Circuit stayed a lower court ruling preventing the defending of Planned Parenthood. The defunding was part of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Somehow, the district judge in the case – Obama appointee Indira Talwani – decided she and not the President and Congress can dictate how federal funds are disbursed. This is the third time Talwani has been smacked down by the 1st Circuit on just this case. She has been reversed on several other TDS cases as well.

I suggest this one is akin to closing the barn doors after the horse took off but it’s something. The Department of Health and Human Services froze all child care payments to Minnesota after videos exposed alleged fraud at subsidized centers, many Somali-run and listed as closed yet funded with millions like $1.9 million to Quality Learning Learing Center.

It seems that the fraud isn’t just limited to little Mogadishu either. One now-defunct shell company started 40 daycare centers in Columbus, Ohio.

I respect the hustle, honestly I do. But – and this is a big one – why aren’t home-grown scammers and fraudsters doing this? I mean, I’d still be pissed, but not nearly as much as I am that we imported a bunch of sub 80 IQ inbred goat-f*ckers to do it.

While we’re on the subject, a retard that writes for Politico (but I repeat myself) named Josh Gerstein posted that “At some point, the amateur effort to knock on doors of home daycares intersects with robust stand-your-ground laws“. Gerstein is the senior legal affairs reporter for Politico.

Here’s the issue, knocking on a door is not considered a threat with regards to SYG laws. More, Minnesota is a ‘duty to retreat state’, meaning you have to run away if you can.

That a reporter for a big-ish publication like Politico can post what can only be considered a call to violence without any repercussions is a problem.
