In the early 19th century, an expression began to circulate about “pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps.” The thing is, this was said with irony and sarcasm. It referred to something that was impossible to do by yourself. Another way of saying the same thing is

ohh, so you’re tired, ok, do it when you are tired

Other day I shared a video of a young fella who did damn good at controlling his language. Think back as a kid, probably some of your best memories are of places you weren’t supposed to be or doing stuff you should not have been doing.

Not everyone grew up as that.
