Random News and Notes 1 January
Welp, it is now 2026. I hope everyone celebrated safely last night. For me, it was dinner out with my son and daughter-in-law and the 2nd half of the Cotton Bowl at a buddy’s place. I was in bed by 2300.
Today’s RNN will be a short one. Not a lot of news today.
It looks like we got lucky last night. No major targeted terror attacks – other than the Russian terror bombing campaign across Ukrainian cities – were reported last night. So-called ‘migrant gangs’ were out in force across europe however. It looks to this editor more like crimes of opportunity than any kind of organized terror thing. It is disruptive regardless, and in a sane world they would face charges and expulsion if they are not citizens.
A German twitch streamer, Kunshikitty, tried to show it was safe for a female to wander alone in the crowds of migrant men in Cologne on NYE. During her New Year’s Eve IRL stream titled ‘SILVESTER IN KÖLN,’ the streamer navigated crowded areas near the Rhine. It didn’t work out as she expected. She was hit with fireworks several times.
At some point, the Euros are going to have to make a decision about their leadership and the continued destruction of their culture and societies. When they do, I expect it will get ugly.
Iranian citizens are rising up against the theocratic regime of the Ayatollahs. They seem to be fed up with the way the country is going and for good reason. The rial, Iran’s currency is crashing. It currently takes 42125﷼ to buy a single US dollar on the official market. The real cost is likely double that. The economy is also cratering. Per capita GDP is expected to shrink by a couple of percent when the numbers for 2025 come in. The Persians have had it.
I sincerely wish them luck, but without some form of outside help, I just don’t see the regime falling right now.
