Much of the Eastern half of the US are facing down severe weather threats. If you are in the path of this storm, heed the warnings, stay off the roads as much as possible and check on your neighbors.

If you have to go out, take your time. Drive carefully, hell, walk carefully.


Sticking with the storm for a second, police dashcam video shows back-to-back accidents from a Belmont County bridge on Interstate 70, showing a bobtail truck slide out followed seconds later by an SUV crash.

The cop sounds absolutely done with the entire day.


There is video of a penguin making a fantastic jump when the ice he was on started to break apart floating around the internet today. Watch:

I seem to remember seeing if not this particular video, then one very similar before. Regardless, penguins are aquatic birds and swim like other birds fly.

Alex Honnold, a 40-year-old climber famous for free soloing El Capitan in the Oscar-winning Free Solo documentary, scaled all 101 stories of Taiwan’s Taipei 101 in 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 34 seconds. He navigated curved glass, dragon-shaped wind dampers, and narrow ledges during a live Netflix stream.

For those who don’t know, free soloing is a style of rock climbing that uses no ropes or other equipment besides a chalk bag – hence free – and no partner – the solo part. It is an extremely difficult and dangerous way to climb.
