Random News and Notes 2 March

We start off today’s RNN in Texas, where on 2 March in 1836 the Republic of Texas was founded.

9 years later, in 1845, Texas would become the 28th state. The territory of the Republic of Texas included much of what would become New Mexico, the Oklahoma Panhandle, parts of Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming.

Coincidentally – or maybe not – today, 2 March, is also the birthday of one Sam Houston. Houston, Leader of the Texas Revolution against Mexico and the Texas Republic’s first president, was born on this date in 1793.

In another Texas related historical note, on this date in 1861 Texas officially seceded from the US. It made the state the 7th to do so.

The UK had some ‘cultural enrichment’ today. A man carrying two knives injured at least three people in Edinburgh before barricading himself inside an apartment building. The as yet unidentified attacker unsuccessfully tried to enter a local school before being repelled.

The retards running the Scottish police are not treating this as a terror related attack.

Stephanie Minter, 41, was waiting in a bus shelter last Monday in the Hybla Valley section of Alexandria VA, when she was stabbed to death. The alleged culprit? Abdul Jalloh, 32, an illegal from Sierra Leone with a final removal order dating back to 2020. It gets worse. Jalloh has rap sheet a mile long and has been released 30 times by Steve Descano, the commonwealth’s attorney for Fairfax County.

According to DHS, his criminal history includes more than 30 arrests for charges of rape, malicious wounding, assault, drug possession, identity theft, trespassing, larceny, firing a weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and pick pocketing.

When are we going to start holding these public officials accountable for this stuff.

Now for the Epic Fury news.

A trio of US F-15 strike eagles were shot down in a friendly fire incident over Kuwait. According to CENTCOM, Kuwaiti air defenses shot the three strike fighters down in an incident involving US and Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones. All six aircrew ejected safely, were recovered, and are in stable condition.

Friendly fire incidents happen. It’s not good, but seeing as the drivers and wizzos are safe, well, it isn’t that big of a deal. I would remind you that the US had it’s own friendly fire incident not that long ago. The Navy managed to shoot down two of it’s own FA-18 super hornets. The pilots and backseaters were safe there too.

Hezbollah in Lebanon decided to get involved in the action. They launched a salvo of rockets at northern Israel last night. Israel managed to knock down all of them that were going to actually hit something. And then the IDF decided enough was enough. The Israeli Air Force targeted the Hezbollah leadership in a series of pinpoint strikes. Reportedly, the strikes took out nearly all the senior leadership of Hezbollah.

The Lebanese government, as ineffectual as it is, has declared Hezbollah an illegal organization int he last 12 hours. The Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced “the immediate ban of all Hezbollah security and military activities and considering them illegal,” and called on the group to surrender its arms.

There is a sad update to pass on. One of the US servicemen severely wounded yesterday’s incident in Kuwait has died. That brings the total up to 4 dead.
