The worm blood moon refers to the March full moon that coincides with a total lunar eclipse, known as a blood moon. This phenomenon occurs when Earth’s shadow falls directly on the Moon, causing it to appear red or coppery due to the scattering of light in Earth’s atmosphere. The name “worm moon” is derived from the appearance of earthworms as the ground begins to thaw in late winter, symbolizing the return of life and the start of spring. This full moon serves as a seasonal marker.
