Journo entry: Not today

Journo entry: Not today

With a fresh coffee here, dog; others keep us well informed, me, I try to keep everyone upbeat during these times we live in.

Ohh it’s Firearm Friday alright, from a different angle

Dog, what are the chances that what brought down our pilots was something let behind in Afghanistan like a MANPAD.

I’ll say it like this:

Don’t underestimate me, I know more than what I say, think more than I speak and notice more than you may realize.

What, ok ok so I ‘ve some Shakespeare along my path

They call it political… as if love can be filed under party lines.

But for some of us, its not political at all, it was never a slogan ~ It is and always will be… Family. It is the dinner table, the empty chair, the quiet pride stitched into everyday life.

We were raised on honor you don’t announce, on brotherhood that doesn’t break when the world does.

We’ve stood beneath skies too still, laying hands on flag-draped caskets, to say a last goodbye to our loved one, while everything else dared to keep moving.

But not today.

Today, we hold space for the rescued, the returned, for the brave souls who went back into the fire and refused to leave their own behind.

To the soldiers, PJs, Marines and the Sailors who rescued our people these past days…

you are not forgotten in the noise of this world.

You are carried… quietly and fiercely, in the hearts that know the cost.

Until every last one is home… we remember.

Sippin my coffee, dog, ever heard of this quote

“Shut up and take my money”
