Trump came to Dover after my wife was killed fighting ISIS.

Trump came to Dover after my wife was killed fighting ISIS. He absolutely respects our service.

I’d never met a president before Donald Trump. His empathy and thoughtfulness on one of the worst days of my life won my gratitude.

“Hey, Joe,” a quiet but familiar voice said to me from the doorway of a small room with plush furniture. The room was meant to provide as much comfort as possible for the families of military members on the worst day of their life: the day the remains of their loved ones are returned to them at Dover Air Force Base.

I had been alone in the room for only a few minutes and was exhausted but restless; the previous three days felt like three years and three minutes all at once, because so much had been taken from my family so quickly and irrevocably that I felt like I was back at war and had just gotten attacked, but unlike in war, I couldn’t fight back.

That voice from the doorway, though, was familiar because it belonged to a man I had seen on television countless times: President Donald Trump. As he approached me, he extended his right hand to shake mine, placed his left hand on my shoulder, looked me in my eyes and said, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Shannon was an amazing woman and warrior.”

I still have no idea what exactly I said in response. The days after my wife, Shannon Kent, was killed by a suicide bomber during a mission to fight ISIS in Syria in January 2019 had been such a blur and, anyway, I’d never met a president before.

But (I am told) I thanked President Trump, and I remember he held eye contact with me. And in his eyes, I could see — unmistakably — the same pain I’d seen in the eyes of other senior leaders who ultimately bear the responsibility for sending men and women to their deaths in combat.

As we unclasped our hands, the president said to me, “Shannon was the real deal, we are lucky to have people like her willing to go out there and face evil for us.” He kept his arm on my shoulder.

Together, as we waited for the plane that would bring Shannon home, we spent another 20 minutes talking about my wife, our children and what an amazing mother, wife and soldier she was. It was clear to me that President Trump truly cared — not just that Shannon and three others had been killed in Syria, but about who Shannon and the three others were as people.

Then the president did something that I did not expect: He asked me what I thought about Syria and what we were doing there. He talked to me — a Green Beret and a combat veteran, not some expert at the Pentagon or a think tank — about the wisdom leaving troops in harm’s way once ISIS’ territorial caliphate had been destroyed. It was clear to me that he was deeply conflicted about whether staying in Syria was worth the lives lost — Shannon and her three colleagues — on that day in January.

Following that hard day in Dover when President Trump was with my family as Shannon came home, I attended another event with him and was able to (perhaps more clearly) talk with members of his staff and family about foreign policy and Gold Star family issues, such as the casualty assistance officer program and changing Defense Department regulations in Shannon’s honor.

So, when I read the anonymous allegations this week that President Trump spoke disparagingly of our troops, I knew they simply weren’t true — or were taken completely out of context in order to hurt him before the election.

President Trump’s actions have shown our troops more respect than any president in my lifetime. His use of decisive military force only when absolutely necessary, combined with his reluctance to use the military as the sole tool of foreign policy, is not only good and smart, but the sign of utmost respect for the lives of our troops.

Since 9/11, America’s all-volunteer force has served under two presidents who were quick to ceremoniously praise our sacrifices without taking any real action to change the grinding status quo that has become the hallmark of the Global War on Terror. Instead of asking hard questions about what we were gaining or could ever gain and taking action based on those answers, Global War on Terror Trump’s predecessors fought wars with our troops in an effort to build new governments in Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11, while letting the perpetrator of that terrorist attack escape to Pakistan (whose government we continue to support).

Former President Barack Obama may have offered eloquent rhetoric, but very little changed during his tenure from his predecessor, except that he also got us involved in the conflict in Syria.

Previous presidents’ support of endless wars has resulted in the loss of thousands of American lives and cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars, whereas President Trump’s limited use of military force and swift action when needed marks a decisive change from that policy. (Look no further than what happened to Qassem Soleimani: When Soleimani ordered an attack that killed an American in late 2019, President Trump immediately ordered a strike that killed him.) And this president has avoided getting us into any new wars — something his recent predecessors seemingly could either not avoid or not resist.

As both a veteran of our nation’s wars and a Gold Star spouse, I find that platitudes about respect for our nation’s troops from leaders without a strategy to keep us from getting into pointless or unwinnable wars are the highest form of disrespect. Our troops and our nation deserve a president who has our best interests in mind, not just meaningless platitudes about our service meant to paint a rosy picture of war and destruction.

America — and the men and women in uniform — need a president who will ask the hard questions about why we are fighting and dying and, yes, whether it was or will be worth it, and then will do his utmost to protect America, our troops, its military and its standing as the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen.

Comment: We have all read the hit piece written by The Atlantic stating the President made disparaging comments towards the Military.
I think we need to hear
from those who really know and understand and have paid the ultimate sacrifice:

AAN EXCLUSIVE: Fredericksburg Deter ANTIFA/BLM Protesters

AAN EXCLUSIVE: Fredericksburg Locals Outnumber and Deter ANTIFA/BLM Protesters

EXCLUSIVE: AAN reporters were on the scene in Fredericksburg, Virginia for a BLM/ANTIFA rally. Many expected the radical left-wing protesters to wreak havoc throughout the town.

The screenshot below was the flyer for the event.

However, what we saw was much different. Locals showed up en mass and outnumbered the protesters. They heckled them with “back the blue” chants and the left-wing agitators peacefully retreated.

BLM protesters gathered at Hurkamp Park in Fredericksburg, Va. around 5 P.M. on Friday night to march in the streets but a heavy presence of Trump-supporting locals deterred the protesters from resorting to violent acts.

BLM and ANTIFA-suspected cars were circling the downtown streets maneuvering a “chase and scout” strategy. Some protesters had radios and were communicating with people in the cars. Hand signals such as the hang-loose sign were shown to signal one another across the streets.

A tall, bearded man was even armed with a gun visibly at his hip while he directed the protests. It appeared that he was ‘calling the shots’ as he utilized his radio and hand-signals. Sources and online photos have matched this protester from footage in Portland and around the country.

As BLM marched, local freedom-loving patriots yelled out their car windows colorful words and harsh exchanges. One local yelled at a man walking on the sidewalk, “Are you ANTIFA? Why are you wearing a mask?” and flipped his middle finger up.

Two local ministers were seen walking in the protest with their hands folded and a Bible in hand.

A local man stood on a downtown corner waving the American flag as cars drove by and honked. The man pictured below is Kenneth Berkley, a retired hardwood floor businessman who loves God, freedom, and country.

“This is a really old, historic town and I would hate to see it burned to the ground,” Berkley said.

While Berkley talked to AAN reporters during a 5-minute window, three men in pick-up trucks drove by with American flags. One man yelled, “Are you guys, Patriots? Come to the top of the hill. We need y’all.”

The small town 50 miles outside of D.C. had a previous protest in June that led to several arrests, rubber bullets being fired, tear gas deployed, the police department being firebombed, and a few stores were broken into, such as Corky’s Military and Police store.

Corky’s owner, Graham, told AAN that he had a few of his close friends watching the store back in June when he suspected three ANTIFA-affiliated males broke the glass of his front door in an attempt to rob him. The three males were met with guns drawn when they got inside the store. Luckily, nothing was taken and the only casualty was Graham’s front door but unfortunately, other shops weren’t so lucky.

Waller & Co. Jewelry store — a 120-year-old, black-owned shop was also broken into in June. This time around, two security guards stood outside of the shop while protesters marched on by.

The protest started at 4:30 P.M. at Hurkamp Park and ended at 7 P.M. The march was peaceful and protesters dispersed as soon as it was done.

This one went much differently than the one in June. Locals showed up en mass and outnumbered the protesters. They heckled them with “back the blue” chants and the left-wing agitators peacefully retreated.

  • Deracinate

    Deracinate

    What does deracinate mean:
1: to remove as if by pulling up 2: to pull up by the roots 3: to displace from a country or traditional habitat

Listening to a recent interview with Dr. Craig Paul Roberts on the Greg Hunter show (as seen below); I thought to myself, this is the methodology they are deploying to undermine our future, our history and our culture, as a nation. This is, in effect how they are bringing about their “revolution“.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmQj2U8Cbk8&t=274s

One can never receive enough sensitivity training. /s We see the invasive and pervasive targeting of highly successful executives, managers, supervisors in the corporate world. We see it within the primarily liberal dominated teachings within the Universities and Colleges. Repeated, once again within the early education system.

Who is their target? The largest American demographic within the racial profiles or Anyone who is white or Caucasian, and more specifically men. The hunters, gathers and protectors. For decades they focused their attention on destroying the family unit, within the Black communities and placing a Planned Parenthood on every other street corner. Maintaining those communities in perpetual poverty, with a four year cycle of empty promises, never fulfilled. Simultaneously, we watched the feminism movement morph from primarily equalized treatment within the workplace to the bedroom. And most recently compounded with the gender identity theft.

This is a very serious attack that is being waged psychologically against our nation and I believe the President has responded appropriately:

At the direction of President Trump, the White House Office of Management and Budget will move to identify and eliminate any trace of “critical race theory” in the federal government.
Critical race theory is the leftist, racist doctrine that forms the intellectual underpinnings of Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and other radical organizations currently engaged in unrest on America’s streets.
It alleges, among other things, that the United States is a white supremacist country, and that all white people are guilty of racism, whether they intend it or not.

Will the Left be successful? If, the primarily Democrat managed cities and states are allowed to continue to undermine law and order, which the police are charged with maintaining. Then potentially yes, as the intentionally fueled racial tensions will escalate to the boiling point and spill over. Amazing, how the Left took the cultural, social and economic diversity within the nation, which are a founding principle and weaponized it against US.

The simultaneous sensitivity training or critical race theory within corporate America, Federal Agencies (FBI/DoJ), and middle class America is intended to create hesitation, inaction, and overthrow.

Priceless: Women Hold ‘Hair Dryer’ Protest Outside Nancy Pelosi’s Home

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being justifiably knocked for violating the pandemic rules in San Francisco against going to a hard salon. All salons are currently closed and blow outs are forbidden, yet Pelosi was caught on camera without a mask on having her hair done. The salon owner spoke out against it after one of the people who used space in her salon worked on Pelosi.

When caught and asked if she would apologize for breaking the rules while demanding everyone else adhere to them, to the degree of being put out of work, Pelosi declined, saying that the hair salon owed her the apology and that she was set-up. She blamed the hair salon for not telling her what the laws were, a ridiculous response from a “lawmaker” who has been in Congress longer than Methusaleh. As my colleague Sister Toldjah wrote, some wags said that perhaps Pelosi might have had a clue by the “closed” signs?

Pelosi managed to make Marie Antoinette trend on Twitter yet again with her entitled “Rules for thee but not for me” attitude.

But some women apparently have had enough of her and they let her know it, in a humorous protest outside her home. They strung hair dryers, curlers and an American flag from a tree which they called the “Freedom Tree.”

They chastised Pelosi for going after the salon owner whose salon has been shut down for six months because of the rules. They called for lifting the rules and allowing people to work to feed their families and to let people get their hair done again. They said they wanted to stand up for the salon owner who has been targeted by Pelosi.

Now that’s what peaceful, non-threatening protest is supposed to look like! Absolutely priceless. Few things can stand in the way of women, justifiably aggrieved! There’s are few people who deserve a peaceful protest more than Marie Antoinette Pelosi.

    Portland, Oregon…where NOT to be

So, as I read through the headlines, I continue to think to myself. The social and economic damage that is being created by Ted Wheeler, Mayor of Portland and Kate Brown the Governor is going to last for a very long time.

Progressive Groups Call for Resignation of Portland Mayor Over Fatal Shooting
Several progressive groups in Oregon have demanded Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s resignation following the fatal shooting of a right-wing protester in the city over the weekend.
In a joint letter, left-wing organizations the Oregon chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Oregon Justice Resource Center, the Portland Democratic Socialists of America NextUp Action Fund, Portland’s Resistance and Popular Mobilization PDX said Wheeler has “not protected or supported” Portland’s residents.
The groups also called for the resignation of Police Chief Chuck Lovell following the Saturday shooting that killed a supporter of the conservative group Patriot Prayer, Aaron Jay Danielson, also known as Jay.

Man Linked to Portland Shooting Was Previously Arrested With Gun
An Antifa member whose sister says she recognized him from photographs of the deadly shooting scene in Portland on Aug. 29 was previously arrested for possessing a loaded gun, court records show.
Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, is reportedly being probed for potential involvement in the shooting over the weekend, which left Aaron Danielson dead.
Reinoehl was arrested in the early hours of July 5 for interfering with an officer, resisting arrest, and possession of a loaded firearm, according to court records reviewed by The Epoch Times. All three are misdemeanors.
Photographs released by the Portland Police Bureau showed a man that appears to be Reinoehl on the ground, with a gun nearby, being arrested by multiple officers.
Thirteen people were arrested during riots that night, police said, but the list of those taken into custody did not include the man’s name.

Portland Rioters Smash Windows, Break Into Business During March to Mayor’s Home
Rioters in Portland on Monday night broke into a business and started a fire inside during a march to the apartment building where Mayor and Police Commissioner Ted Wheeler lives.
Video footage showed rioters using baseball bats to shatter glass windows and doors to gain access to a dental clinic before lighting a fire inside.
Graffiti sprayed on the business said “This is the language of the unheard” and “Cops & Klan go hand in hand.”
In a bid to “deescalate the situation,” police officers “stayed out of sight and monitored the situation from the distance,” the Portland Police Bureau said in an incident summary.
But the continued mayhem triggered a response. The clinic is situated in a large apartment building, prompting fears the fire could spread to residences and leading to the declaration of a riot.
Officers moved in and dispersed the crowd so that firefighters could respond and extinguish the fire and others started by rioters.
Clashes between the officers and rioters went into the early hours of Tuesday.

  • Oops, is Moderna Double Dipping?

    Oops, is Moderna Double Dipping?

Before the mainstream media transfigures Moderna founder and CEO Stephane Bancel into  a corporate savior on par with Bill Gates, we’d like to remind investors (and the public) that Moderna and its insiders have demonstrated an eyebrow-raising affinity for pumping the stock with over-hyped press releases then cashing in shares or warrants (all insider stock sales were pre-scheduled divestitures, the insiders’ lawyers have argued).

Despite receiving nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money via “Operation Warp Speed”, the drugmaker is planning to charge as much as $37 for a single dose, or up to $60 for two courses, of its experimental mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. That’s far and away the highest price point disclosed yet.

And while we wait for more detailed data from the vaccine’s Phase 3 clinical trials, patent advocacy group KEI is taking Moderna and its executives to task for neglecting to disclose government funding received by the company during its early stages, before the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite receiving $25 million from the Department of Defense’s “Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency” – or “Darpa” – Moderna has never disclosed this, or any other, government funding in its applications for 126 patents and 154 patent applications. KEI has lodged a request with the DoD and Darpa to remedy this in patents.

As KEI points out, Moderna’s “failure” to disclose its government funding could have serious consequences for Americans hoping to get their hands on an affordable vaccine. The disclosures could affect everything from the US government’s worldwide royalty free license, to the public’s march-in rights, to obligations to make inventions available to the public on reasonable terms.

When approached by the FT, Darpa confirmed that Moderna was required in its contracts to disclose the funding in any patent applications that stemmed from research that the US government helped fund.

Now, Darpa is actively looking into which Moderna patents may have been produced with Darpa support, so the US government can take credit where credit is due.

“It appears that all past and present Darpa awards to Moderna include the requirement to report the role of government-funding for related inventions,” Darpa spokesman Jared Adams said in an emailed response to the Financial Times. “Further, Darpa is actively researching agency awards to Moderna to identify which patents and pending patents, if any at all, may be associated with Darpa support,” he said. Mr Adams declined to comment further, saying the investigation was continuing. US federal law required government funding to be disclosed in these circumstances, he noted.

Now, keep in mind that Moderna is trying to charge as much as $37 per dose for its vaccine, when the vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford is priced at about $3 per dose.

Maybe Moderna can make amends for these mistakes by cutting the price its charging the US government for a vaccine that it developed with the help of a massive infusion of government money?

It looks like grandstanding NBA stars like LeBron James, who have been pushing for the league to do something “social justice-ey” after failing to shut down the postseason, have finally gotten their wish.

Adam Silver has apparently consented to a new arrangement whereby all the leagues arenas will be transformed into 2020 voting

That way, people can feel safe voting in person. Somebody should probably tell them that the last thing Democrats want is a workaround that deflates their argument for mail-in voting.  The league has also announced that it’s taking a “series of further steps” to advance the social justice agenda as well.
