    Begun The Trade War Has

    Ontario Premier Doug Ford

Ontario Provincial premier Doug Ford – brother to former Toronto mayor and infamous crackhead Rob – has implemented a series of taxes and duties on goods bound for and coming from the US.

He announced the imposition of a 25% export tax on electrical power deliveries to 1.5 million homes in Minnesota, Michigan and New York in retaliation for U.S. tariffs. He also directed Ontario energy producers to shut down the exports entirely if President Trump moves ahead with more tariffs on April 2.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say Doug found Rob’s stash and was partaking. Let me break it down a bit.

Economically speaking, the state of New York, my home state incidentally, has a larger economy than the entire country of Canada; $2.284 trillion to $2.12 trillion as of last year.

The Province of Ontario made up some $880 billion of that total last year. That makes Ontario the #7 province in Canada GDP wise. It would land them in a similar spot in the US, nestled between Ohio at $922b and Georgia at $877b.

Sounds good right? Not so fast. If you look at per capita GDP, ~$50,000, Ontario would be the poorest state, landing just after Mississippi $53,000.

For reference, the US GDP is some $27 trillion.

What’s my point? Simple, the frost Mexicans can’t afford to enter into this trade war. Some 75% of all of Ontario’s GDP is wrapped up with the US. Meanwhile, that trade accounts for less than 7% of all US trade.

So while my electric bill might go up a bit, some poor hoser in Cornwall or York or Windsor is going to get laid off if not outright fired.

  • DoD Bans All Trans Servicemembers

    DoD Bans All Trans Servicemembers

In an overdue move, the Department of Defense has banned all transgendered individuals from serving in the military.

In an memo issued today, Undersecretary Darrin Selnick stopped the accession of any transgendered individuals to the military and discharged any transgenders currently serving

The memo spells out the new DoD wide policy in great specificity.

    f. The Department only recognizes two sexes: male and female. An individual’s sex is immutable, unchanging during a person’s life. All Service members will only serve in accordance with their sex, defined in Executive Order 14168, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” as “an individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female.”

It is a big step in the right direction for the Military.

Your editor endured the enactment of don’t ask, don’t tell and while it did not affect the Unit I was with at the time, I saw the corrosive effects in other units. The tranny thing was 1000 times worse according to troops I know who have endured it.

One current E-6 of my acquaintance fell afoul of the trans madness and had to apply for a transfer to a different unit because of it. The unit had such low morale, the Army split the whole thing up and scattered the troops all over the country.

  • Actor Gene Hackman Dies

    Actor Gene Hackman Dies

Gene Hackman, known for his roles in several films including the French Connection and Unforgiven was found dead in his home in New Mexico. He was 95. HIs wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, was found dead at the same time. No foul play is suspected.

Hackman was born in San Bernardino, California, in 1930, but grew up in the mid-west. He left home at age 16 and lied about his age to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He served four and a half years as a field-radio operator. Hackman was stationed in China (Qingdao and later in Shanghai). When the Communist Revolution conquered the mainland in 1949, he was assigned to Hawaii and Japan. Following his discharge in 1951, Hackman moved to New York City.

In 1956, Hackman began pursuing an acting career. Hackman acted in several Broadway plays. His part in the 1964 Broadway hit Any Wednesday opened the path for consistent work in film. His first credited role came in the 1964 film Lilith.

His turn as Buck Barrow in 1967’s Bonnie and Clyde got him his first Oscar nomination, as best supporting actor. Hackman was nominated for a second Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role in I Never Sang for My Father in 1970.

In 1971, he took home the trophy for best actor for his portrayal of Popeye Doyle in the French Connection.

Over the years, Hackman made appearances in many cultural touchstone films. Mississippi Burning – where he earned a second Best Actor nomination, Hoosiers, A Bridge Too far, Superman and Postcards From The Edge are all on the must-watch list.

In 1992 he teamed up with Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven. His portrayal of “Little Bill” Daggett earned him his second Oscar, this time for Best Supporting actor. Hackman took over every scene he appeared in. Quite a feat when starring alongside Eastwood and Morgan Freeman.

Hackman appeared in several more films after Unforgiven including the Royal Tennenbaums and Runaway Jury. He retired from acting in 2004.

Alongside his two Oscars, Hackman won two BAFTA awards and three Golden Globes.

  • Brown Gets the Boot

    Brown Gets the Boot

In somewhat of a surprise move, President Trump ‘accepted the resignation’ of former Chair of the Joint Chiefs General CQ Brown last night. Also on the chopping block were former CNO Lisa Franchetti and the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Lieutenant General James Slife.

All three were Biden appointees and all three were big on DEI.

Brown’s removal was announced in a post on Truth Social.

I want to thank General Charles “CQ” Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family. . .

The post went on to announce Brown’s replacement, Air Force LTG Dan ‘Razin’ Caine.

Today, I am honored to announce that I am nominating Air Force Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine to be the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. General Caine is an accomplished pilot, national security expert, successful entrepreneur, and a “warfighter” with significant interagency and special operations experience.

During my first term, Razin was instrumental in the complete annihilation of the ISIS caliphate. It was done in record setting time, a matter of weeks. Many so-called military “geniuses” said it would take years to defeat ISIS. General Caine, on the other hand, said it could be done quickly, and he delivered.

Despite being highly qualified and respected to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the previous administration, General Caine was passed over for promotion by Sleepy Joe Biden. But not anymore! Alongside Secretary Pete Hegseth, General Caine and our military will restore peace through strength, put America First, and rebuild our military. Finally, I have also directed Secretary Hegseth to solicit nominations for five additional high level positions, which will be announced soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Caine is a bit of an unusual choice. He has been on the retired list since 2024. He is a qualified F-15 pilot and spent the large part of his career in the National Guard.

The permanent replacement for the CNO has not been announced yet. Admiral James W. Kilby, the current Vice CNO will be filling the position until someone has been confirmed by the Senate.

The same situation holds for the Vice chief of staff for the Air Force. There has not been a permanent replacement named yet.

In addition, the Inspectors General of the Army, Navy and Air Force, Army Lieutenant General Joseph B. Berger III, Navy Rear Admiral Lia M. Reynolds, and Air Force Lieutenant General Charles L. Plummer were fired. Berger was caught trying to hide Army DEI initiatives in his command by renaming them and moving the personnel into a different office.

  • Kash Confirmed

    Kash Confirmed

Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel, President Trump’s selection to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation has just been confirmed.

The final confirmation vote totals were 51-49, with the vote largely falling along party lines. Two Republicans, Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, voted against Patel, joining all 47 Democrats in opposition. The remaining 51 Republican senators, including Mitch McConnell, voted in favor of his confirmation.

Patel, 44, is a former federal prosecutor and was chief of staff to Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller.

  • RFK Jr. Lays Out His HHS Agenda:…

RFK Jr. Lays Out His HHS Agenda:…

In his first address to staffers at the Department of Health and Human Services, HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. promised that “nothing is going to be off limits” in his pursuit to reduce the chronic disease epidemic.

“Some of the possible factors we will investigate were formerly taboo or insufficiently scrutinized,” Kennedy told HHS staff, Tuesday morning. “I’m willing to subject them all to the scrutiny of unbiased science.”

Some of these previously taboo concerns, he said, include “the childhood vaccine schedule, electromagnetic radiation, glyphosate, other pesticides, ultra processed foods, artificial food additives, SSRI and other psychiatric drugs, PFAS, PFOAs, microplastics.”

RFK Jr. reminded HHS staff that an “overwhelming majority” of our Founding Fathers were “citizen scientists,” including “Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Adams, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Rush, a physician, Julian Bartlett, a physician, Matthew Thornton, a physician, and Oliver Wolcott, a physician.”

“Science and democracy were born together during the enlightenment, and they share the same ideals for openness, for public access, and for transparency,” he said.

No one trusts science that isn’t transparent about its research hypothesis, its raw data, or its conflicts of interest. No one trusts a government built on lies, on secrets, on cover ups, and propaganda. That’s why my uncle famously observed that the word secrecy is repugnant to a free and open society.

RFK Jr. told the bureaucrats at HHS that a key “reason why our agencies have lost public trust is that they have become too politicized,”  and that “there’s no such thing as Democratic children or Republican children.”

“Science gets politicized when power and profit are involved, and power and profit are blind to compassion,” he continued. “Reducing the influence of money, therefore, goes hand in hand with depoliticizing HHS.”

Kennedy lamented that a “fog of narrative warfare” had left Americans with a warped view of his character and beliefs.

Let’s start a relationship by letting go of any preconceptions that you may have about me,” he stated. “I’m going to keep asking questions but hold my preconceived answers lightly. I’m willing to be wrong,” Kennedy said.

“I’m not going to impose any of my beliefs over yours,” he added. “Instead, we’re going to launch a new era of radical transparency. Only through radical transparency can we provide Americans with genuine informed consent, which is the bedrock and foundation of Democracy.”

RFK Jr. continued: “It’s no secret that many of our institutions of our Democracy, and even of science and medicine, are no longer transparent.

Because of this, he argued, these institutions “have become inefficient, dysfunctional or corrupt,” and in some cases, become “captive to profit-making industries and stagnated in bureaucratic secrecy.”

Kennedy acknowledged however that the majority of people in our public health agencies have good motives and are “competent, ethical, caring and idealistic.”

I believe that most of you here are not here for the money,” he told his HHS audience.

“My goal as Secretary here at HHS will be to create a culture of competency, of ethics, of openness, of transparency, of caring, and of pride so that individuals who share these ideals can flourish and thrive,” Kennedy said. “Those who are unwilling to embrace those kinds of ideas can retire,” he added.

RFK Jr. vowed to “remove conflicts of interest” at HHS whenever possible or “balance them with other stakeholders,” and to shut the revolving door to outside companies “to restore public trust.”

“We will make our data and our policy process so transparent that people won’t even have to file a FOIA request,” he promised.

RFK Jr. also pledged to bring Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) into HHS to make Medicare and Medicaid more efficient.

“The same DOGE technology that has uncovered vast amounts of waste and fraud can be used to better serve our fellow citizens who depend on these programs to make sure that no one is left behind and no one is left out,” he said. “We will aim to set a standard of courtesy, efficiency, professionalism, and integrity that will make HHS again the envy of the world.”

  • Some Accountability? It’s About Time

    Some Accountability? It’s About Time

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has decided on investigators to look into the mess that was the Afghanistan withdrawal.

In an interview with Breitbart, Hegseth said “We’ve already identified folks that’ll be in charge of that full investigation inside the Pentagon . . . I don’t have a timeframe on it. Sadly, we’ve already waited two-and-a-half years, three years since what occurred. I don’t want to wait longer, but I always want to get it right,”

The entire withdrawal was screwed up and Hegseth wants answers. “So, we’re going to drive that full investigation and get a sense of what happened. And as I stated to the workforce on Friday, I guess less than a week ago, accountability will be coming for what happened in Afghanistan, and that’s important to reestablishing trust at the Defense Department,” he said.

As of right now, the only officer to be punished for the withdrawal that cost 13 US service members their lives, was LtCol Stuart Scheller. Except Scheller wasn’t involved directly in the debacle. His sin was making a video complaining about the lack of accountability at the flag levels in the military. He has been named as a senior advisor to the DOD under Hegseth.

I Really Hope This Isn’t True

Word has come out that Hamas plans on releasing the bodies of the Bibas family. The terrorist organization has been very tight lipped about the fate of Shiri, Kfir and Ariel who were taken. along with their father and husband, Yarden. Yarden Bibas was released as part of the hostage deal earlier this month.

This week’s exchange will include 6 living hostages and 4 bodies. Khalil al-Hayya, the senior Hamas negotiator, said the bodies to be released would include those of the Bibas family – Shiri and her young children Kfir and Ariel, who were aged nine months and four years when Hamas kidnapped them.

In exchange, Israel will free all women and those under the age of 19 arrested since last October and is allowing some rubble-clearing equipment into Gaza through the border with Egypt.

Omer Wenkert, Eliya Cohen, Avraham (Avera) Mengisto, Tal Shoham, Omer Shem Tov, and Hisham Al-Sayed will all be released this Saturday.  Mengitsu and Al-Sayed have been held in Gaza for around a decade, having crossed into Gaza on their own accord.
